Revisions
Some operations have associated complications that may require additional surgery.
Reasons for revision of a LAP-BAND may include:- Band slippage/pouch dilatation
- Obstruction of the stomach-band outlet
- Esophageal dilatation or poor esophageal function
- Leak or twist at the access port.
- Band erosion into the stomach
- Port displacement, port site pain
- Re-operation to fix a problem with the band or initial surgery
Reasons for revision of a Gastric Bypass may include:
- Leaks
- Bleeding
- Hernias
- Obstruction
- Stricture
